"Oh, bloody hell..."

Set ***1/2

The very best of Monty Python's Flying Circus in one set?  Yes, friends...this time, it's Personal.

Personal Best, that is.  A&E, the champion of the Pythons on DVD, have catered to fans in every way imaginable so that every last one of us, regardless of budget, can enjoy our favorite moments from the legendary Flying Circus.  Of course, the best way is still the complete 16 Ton Megaset, but for those a little more price-conscious, the Personal Best discs will grant a quick and easy fix.

The Personal Best of Monty Python's Flying Circus is a nicely packaged set...six discs, one for each of the members of Britain's notoriously funny comedy troupe.  Whether you love the antics of John Cleese, the hijinks of Terry Jones, the mirth of Michael Palin or the effervescence of Eric Idle, you're all set here, as each one offers up a selection of his favorite bits from the show.  All of them chip in and help out with Graham Chapman's selections, which also serves as a nice tribute piece to the late Python.  And for fans of Terry Gilliam's zany cut-out animations, his disc is chock full of them!
